|Key words for search:||Methyl Bromide, Dimethyl Carbonate|
|Explain briefly the idea||
Dimethyl carbonate can be used as a methylating agent under basic condition under pressure. Can this be extended to Bromide ion? If so, this becomes an easy wy of producing either Methyl Bromide (gas) or Methyl Iodide.
